STAR School Summary Research File

Conforms to School Accountability Report Card (SARC) Specifications

SARC Formatted STAR Research File

File Description

The STAR School Summary Research File contains the data used in the development of the School Accountability Report Card (SARC). Consequently, the groupings and reporting of subjects, grades, assessments, and school types included in this file are dictated by SARC requirements.

This file provides four CST and two CAT/6 Survey scores for every school and district in the state. Statewide scores are also included. The CST scores identify the percent of students scoring "at or above proficient" on the English-Language Arts, Mathematics, History-Social Science, and Science subject area tests across all grades. The CAT/6 Survey scores for Reading and Mathematics reflect the percent of students "scoring at or above 50th NPR." Scores are reported for 17 demographic subgroups, including "All Students."

File Details

In order to protect student confidentiality, no information is included for any demographic subgroup of ten or fewer students.

For district aggregations, all charter schools are included regardless of their "independent" or "dependent" status.
