| Spring 1998 Research Files |
|
These research files contain results from California's Standardized
Testing and Reporting (STAR) program. Each file contains the same information presented in
the Reports section of this site and is provided to allow for more complex analyses and
customized reporting of the data.Use of these research files requires some expertise in
data handling. Descriptions of the file formats and instructions on how to access the data
are contained in a file you can access by clicking on the Research File Help icon or
the Pencil icon for help.
Each of the three file formats (fixed length ASCII, tab-delimited, and dBASE IV .dbf) is available
in a Windows .zip and in a Macintosh .sit version. To download one of these research files
click on the appropriate Folder icon at the left.
The Access 97 database file is packaged in a self-extracting file, and is available for
the Windows platform only. This database can also be used with Access 2000.
To download the Access database, click on the appropriately labeled Folder icon to the left.
This will take you to a page with the options of downloading the database in its entirety, or in multiple smaller parts for easier downloading.
To view results directly, click on the Reports icon at the top of the screen.
In order to protect student confidentiality, no scores are reported
for any group of 10 or fewer students.
The results posted at this Web site are based on data provided by Harcourt
Brace Educational Measurement (Stanford 9 and STAR Augmentation) and CTB/McGraw-Hill
(SABE/2) under contract with California school districts.
