 These research files contain results from California's Standardized
Testing and Reporting (STAR) program. Each file contains the same information presented in
the Reports section of this site and is provided to allow for more complex analyses and
customized reporting of the data.Use of these research files requires some expertise in data handling. Descriptions of the file formats and instructions on how to access the data are contained in a file you can access by clicking on the Pencil icon for help. Each of the three file formats (fixed length ASCII, tab-delimited, and .dbf) is available in a Windows .zip and in a Macintosh .sit version. To download one of these research files click on the appropriate Folder icon at the left. To view results directly, click on the Reports icon at the top of the screen. In order to protect student confidentiality, no scores are reported for any group of 10 or fewer students.
