STAR Reporting Subgroups

Subgroup results are available for the:

  • California Standards Tests (CSTs)
  • California Alternate Performance Assessment (CAPA) – Due to the small number of students assessed with the CAPA, data will be unavailable for some subgroups.
  • California Achievement Tests, Sixth Edition Survey (CAT/6 Survey)

Reports are available at the state, county, district, and school levels for “All Students” and disaggregated for subgroups of students based on the following criteria:

  • All Students
  • Gender
    • Male
    • Female
  • English-Language Fluency
    • English Learners Enrolled in School in the United States 12 months or more (CST and CAT/6 Survey only)
    • English Learners Enrolled in School in the United States less than 12 months (CST and CAT/6 Survey only)
    • English Only
    • Initially-Fluent English Proficient (I-FEP)
    • English Learner (EL)
    • Redesignated-Fluent English Proficient (R-FEP)
  • Economic Status
    • Economically Disadvantaged
    • Non-Economically Disadvantaged
  • Students with Disabilities
    • Students with Disability (CST and CAT/6 Survey only)
    • Students with No Reported Disability (CST and CAT/6 Survey only)
  • Ethnicity
    • African American
    • American Indian or Alaska Native
    • Asian (Note: Asian subgroups listed below available for all report levels of CST and CAT/6 Survey, and state-level only for CAPA)
      • Chinese
      • Japanese
      • Korean
